Pastel Pearlescent water colour on Black card

This card is quite an easy card, I bought an inexpensive palette of watercolour  paints that are pearlescent/metallic to look at, from the craft section of a department store here.I thought I would give them a go to see how they performed, and thought they would look best on black card.

So I made a card base and front panel in black card.

On the front panel I stamped the Wplus9 A kind soul stamp in the top right hand corner and the bottom left hand corner.  I also stamped the sentiment while I was doing embossing

The paints were just like any other water colour palette, these were quite creamy, and covered the black card quite well. Some of the paler colours only looked silvery and didn't show their colour very well, but they probably would on white.  I did notice that the paint did cover over some of the embossed lines, where I thought it would have resisted, so I had to go back at the end and draw over some with a white gel pen to brighten them back up.  But overall I was quite pleased for something that only cost me $4.

I cut the panel down by a 1/4 inch and mounted it onto black craft foam and then onto my card base and that was the card done.  Nothing fancy at all, but quite effective on the black.

Here is a video on making the card

The materials I used were:
5 x 7 inch card base and panel
Wplus9 A kind soul stamp

Ranger white embossing powder
EK success embossing powder tool
Embossing buddy
Heat tool
