My cards are 5” x 7” but the embossing folder is 6” x 6”, so what I did was create a sentiment panel by embossing above and below where I wanted the strip to be on two card panels.
Then this is where I coloured them slightly differently. I used one of Altenew’s blending brushes and used some oxide ink and went over the whole embossed area very lightly. The second card I just inked a few areas, just the centres of the flowers and base of leaves, just to highlight them slightly. I then went ahead and stamped the sentiments into the blank strip I had created. Then stuck them to my card base
Then it was a matter of decorating them. The apricot coloured one, I stamped the ‘positive vibes’ flower spray with the Pink fresh studio cube stamps in the ‘heartbeat' set, and the greens with the ‘ Garden stroll‘ set. Then fussy cut it out, put some foam tape on the back, to raise it slightly, and then stuck it down beside the sentiment.
For the blue one, I wanted to use the leftover roses from my valentines card, but felt they were a bit lost on the busy background, so decided to stick down part of a paper doily, and then put the flowers on top of that, and that looked better.
