Stamped border card with coloured panel

This card is quite simple in essence and can be done with a variety of stamps, so a good one to do with stamps you will already have in your stash.

I started by getting a front panel and stamping some flowers (I used the poppy garden stamp set by Altenew), just the outline stamps down both sides of the panel. I butted them up to each other as much as possible, and then filled any gaps with leaves from the same stamp set.  Most of the stamping is going to be covered by the front panel, but try and get as much of the flower as possible.

While I had the MISTI out, I stamped an arrangement of the poppies on another piece of card, which will be my front panel.

I then set to and coloured my poppies on the front panel with copics although just use any alcohol pens you have or any other method of colouring you like.

I decided that the panel was going to be too wide if I cut on either side of my flowers, so I cut above and below each flower towards the outside of the panel, and then fussy cut around the edge of the flower, so in essence the panel is narrower, but the outside edges of the flowers stick out a bit from that.

Next was to get some red that co-ordinated with the poppies and trimmed it so that it formed a matt behind the panel, then cut two really thin strips and glued them along the stamped panel edge, so it made a contrasting line along the edge.

Then I just stuck the panel down into the centre of my stamped border panel, and then onto my card base.  The sentiment I went with under my flowers on the front panel was a die cut sentiment with a thin secondary sentiment that I cut out in a strip and cut flag ends into it., and that was the card finished.

This card design is very versatile, it will look different each time you do it with a different stamp and colour combination.

I have a video of making the card.
