Masked Focal Point one layer card

I have started making Mother's Day cards, and thought I would use the Peony Bouquet stamp set for this one.

I started off by masking a card panel with a sheet of masking paper that I had cut a circle in the middle with a circle die.  That meant I could see the area I was stamping and it kept my front panel nice and clean.  I started stamping the 3 flowers in Altenew crisp inks and then masked them off and filled up the spaces with two different leaf stamps out of the same set.  Once I had done all the layers I was able to take off all the masks to reveal the clean front panel with the stamping in a circle
.

As I don't have a Mother's day stamp I decided to use the Altenew Calligraphy Alpha stamps and make the word 'Mother's', and then used a Happy Birthday stamp and stamped the 'Happy' and then the 'day' from birthday.

Finally I stuck the front panel onto my card base, did some dew drops with the Nuvo crystal drops and that was the card finished.

Here is a video of making the card

Spotlight Beautiful Day Card

I have been wanting to do a 'Spotlight' card for some time, I have been seeing them on Pinterest and images on the internet and Instagram, and decided that I might have a go at one. It is where you have part of the card in colour and the rest of the card just black and white.  I thought a layering stamp, such as the Altenew Beautiful day stamp might work well for one, because it has the layers but also an outline stamp.

I used my misti to do all the stamping, but you could use an acrylic block to do the front panel, but it is best to use a stamp positioning tool to use for doing the outline stamp part on both the front panel and the base card, so that you get them in the same place for both and that way they line up perfectly.

I started by stamping the coloured layers on the front panel, being conscious of overlapping the flowers and the leaves, so that when I did the outline stamps there were parts on both the panel and the back base card.

I then once I had finished those, I then stamped the outline of each part onto the front panel first, and then replaced the front panel with the back panel and stamped the same stamp before moving onto the next.

I finished off by stamping a couple of the filler stamps onto two white areas I had on the base card stamping.

Finally I stamped the two parts of the sentiment and then mounted the front panel onto some craft foam, and then mounted that onto the base card, making sure I had everything perfectly aligned.

The last finishing touch was to put 3 sparkling droplets onto the card and that was it finished.

Here is a video showing how I did it.

I am really happy with how it turned out, give it a go, I am sure it would work with all kinds of stamps, and especially outline stamps that you could stamp on both, and then just colour the front panel in with whatever colour medium you like to do.

The materials I used are:

Card base 5" x 7"
Front panel 4" x 6"
