Emboss resist blended Persian Motif Card

There's something almost magical about the emboss resist technique, the way the design appears when you do ink blending over it. It reminds me of the magic paint books I got as a child, where you painted on water, and then a picture magically appeared.

This card I have used the Altenew Persian Motif stamp set to stamp an all over design in two triangular patterns on the top and bottom of the card, leaving a strip in the middle where I am to put the sentiment.

I stamped two of the flowers from the stamp set with versamark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.

The ink blending I used Distress inks in pretty jewel colours and then stamped a sentiment which would go with my die cut 'thanks' sentiment. I trimmed the panel down, so it would leave a little strip on the left hand side, to do a strip of black and white washi tape.

I have made a video on how I made the card, although it is a very simple card, depending on what colours you use, the effects are really lovely.

The materials I used to make the card
Card base 5 x 7 inches
Panel also same size
Washi tape
Altenew Persian Motif stamp set
Versamark watermark ink
Ranger white embossing powder
EK success powder tool
Heat tool
Ranger mini blending tool
Distress inks wilted violet, picked raspberry, salty ocean & blueprint sketch
Poppystamps Fancy thanks die
paper xtra sentiment stamp
double sided tape
Misti
Versafine onyx black ink
Clear embossing powder

Yet another way to use any stamps you might have in a different way.
I hope I have given you some inspiration, happy card making

This is the card I have made.
I reduced the size of the digital image on the computer to fit the Spellbinder labels 4 die I wanted to use, and printed it out onto water colour paper.

I used my Stabilo 68 water colour pens to paint the image and then attached it with foam tape to my die cut background which I had mounted onto mauve glitter paper.
The sentiment I cut out with a fancy tag die and finished the card off with a bow I had hand dyed the ribbon for and some flat back pearls.

Small flower from Beautiful Day stamp set Thank you card

This card turned out to be a wee cutie, I wanted to 'hero' one of the smaller stamps in the Altenew Beautiful day stamp set, and so I made this card.

I stamped the Thank you sentiment first onto a scrap of water colour paper, and then stamped the little sprig of flowers from the stamp set, all around it with versafine onyx black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I then set to and coloured the flowers and leaves with my Stabilo 68 water colour pens.

I cut a frame with the Memory box stitched square dies and raised it up with some fun foam.  A sprinkling of sequins and it was done.

A really quick card, and a great one if you like sitting down and colouring.

A video on how I made the card

The materials I used were
Altenew Beautiful day stamp set
Ranger water colour paper
No 4 paint brush
Versafine Onyx black ink
Ranger clear embossing powder
Heat tool
Stabilo 68 watercolour markers
Joy crafts Banner sentiment stamp set
Fun foam

Sequins

Another way to use the smaller stamps in your stamp sets that get a bit forgotten.
A quick way to make a very sweet card.

Floral blooms watercolour background card.

Recently I bought an Australian simply cards magazine and with it was a free set of floral blooms.  There was a stencil, border embossing folder and some clear stamps.
I am making a background with the outline flower and outline leaf from this set

I have stamped these onto some watercolour paper with versamark watermark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.

I have then coloured the flowers firstly with distress inks wilted violet, salty ocean, squeezed lemonade (I went back and darkened this a little with mustard seed and picked raspberry. Then the leaves with twisted citron.  Then painted in the background with a spun sugar reinker.
I was going to leave the painting quite light, but decided once it was dried, that it was a bit washed out, so I went back and did another layer of all the colours to brighten it up a little.

Lastly I made a sentiment on a strip of vellum, and folded it over my water coloured panel, cut it out with a stitched rectangle. I then stuck the outside frame to a card base and trimmed it to size, then raised the stitched rectangle panel with some foam tape.

The materials I have used for this card are:
Floral blooms stamp set from Australian Simply Cards magazine August 2016
Water colour paper
Versamark watermark ink
Ranger white embossing powder
Distress inks wilted violet, squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, picked raspberry and salty ocean, twisted citron
Spun sugar distress re-inker
No 4 paint brush
Vellum
3M Scotch Foam sided tape
Tape runner
White card base
Mix of clear and pink clear sequins

This is another way to use any of your flower stamps, especially if they are quite detailed or outline stamps.
I hope this has given you some inspiration
