Vase of Flowers card

I have had the Versatile Vase stamp for some time and hadn't got around to using it, so today was the day.

The Antique rose set is the flowers I am going to use for my vase.  It is such a beautiful layering set, the flowers really come to life as you stamp each layer!

I started by getting a card panel and using a stencil and some texture paste I made a rough area of a pattern on the centre of the card that my vase and flowers will go on.

Then I stamped the roses in 4 different colour combinations and some of the leaves.

I stamped the vase on Water colour paper as I wanted to do a tiny bit of watercolour to give the impression of water in the vase.  So I had to pick a waterproof ink for that.  I also wanted to stamp some stalks for the roses into the vase, so I found a stalk in the Wallpaper Art set by Altenew.

The water colour was done with some tumbled glass distress ink and a brush.

Then it was just a matter of putting it together.  I raised the roses up on foam tape but everything else was glued flat.

I also at the same time stamped a single flower vase with a single stalk and this one I coloured with a tiny bit of ink blending.  This I put the fourth coloured rose, the blue one, and made it a single rose in a vase.

I have a video of making the card.

If you would prefer to see it in full HD then hop over to my You Tube channel here.

The materials I used to make the card are:
Card base 5“ x 7” X 2
Spare piece of card for the stencil

A small piece of Bristol Strathmore smooth water colour card
