Silver and Pink Poinsettia Card

For the last card in my Christmas series this year, I did a somewhat different card than most of the others this year.  Not so clean and simple.

All the dies I have used other than the poinsettia die which is a Sue Wilson die, are aliexpress dies.  The frame dies and the stacking dies are.

I used quite a variety to make a layered frame to put my flower arrangement on. I started off by cutting out a stitched square that was to cover my entire card base. Then I cut a scalloped inside square that has a stitched border.  Then I cut a scalloped inside circle and a dotted square into another piece of card that was a few millimetres smaller than than scalloped square, so that it could go in behind it. I then put all my pieces together in my Misti, to work out where I needed to stamp my sentiment on the bottom stitched square.  I went ahead and stamped that with clear sticky ink and then embossed it with silver embossing powder and heat set it. (unfortunately it went a little wrinkled)!  I then cut out a piece of craft foam and mounted that behind the largest stitched square and put that onto my card base.  Then I put thin pieces of foam tape all around the scalloped square and mounted it onto the scalloped circle  piece with the dotted square.  This was mounted onto the stitched background and that is my 'frame' ready.

I then cut out two of the large and 4 of the small poinsettias out of some white glitter paper, and 4 small out of silver mirror card. I inked the centre of the white glitter ones with a sponge dauber and some pink ink. I cut out some holly leaves out of white and a pale green card.

I shaped all the leaves and individual petals a little with my thumb nails to get a bit of dimension and then glued pairs of the flower dies together with a dob of thick glue and then another dob of glue in the middle of the poinsettias and put a few white glittery beads into them and left them to dry a little.  I could then go ahead and make my arrangement alternating the pink and silver small poinsettias and having the bigger one in the middle. The leaves went in behind the flower.

I think the card turned out very pretty and the pink and white although not traditional in colour makes a very pretty card!

I have a video of making the card.
