Cutout stencil with water coloured flower card & why I have been missing in action

I finally got some time to do another card and video, again using an Altenew stencil but this time I am going to cut it out with a die and use it as a framed background.

I have recently discovered the Catherine Pooler ink pads, and bought myself 3 of the mauve colours to have a go with.  I have to say they are wonderful, they blend beautifully, such lovely rich saturated colours.  I will definitely be buying more of them.  I also used them to water colour the flower and they worked very well.

Anyway back to the card.  I used the lightest colour sweet sixteen and the middle colour which was Pixie dust to blend from the outside of the stencil with the darker colour to the centre.  I then turned the stencil around so that the leaves were in between the ones I had just stenciled and then used the Pixie dust and the next darker shade Flirty fuchsia again going from light to dark.  I  could have done much better at lining the patterns up, but the effect is still lovely.

I then cut out the stencil with a shaped die and also a frame that would go around the edge of the cutout.  This could be done with any shaped die frame.

I stamped a flower and leaves from the Wallpaper art stamp set with clear ink and white embossing powder and then using some of the ink from the ink pad of the Flirty Fuchsia i water coloured the flower and used some Altenew crisp ink the same way to do the leaves.  Once they were dry I fussy cut them out.

I mounted the frame and stencil cutout onto some craft foam and put it on my card, stamped a sentiment at the bottom and lastly the flower and leaves with a mixture of foam tape and glue to the bottom left hand corner of the stencil frame.

Here is the video on how I made the card. If you would prefer to see it in HD then go over to my You tube channel here.

Also at the end of the video is an explanation and a short video on what I have been working on and why I haven't been posting as many posts and videos.

Hopefully things will settle down a little now and I will get to make and video some more cards for you.
