Delicate Mandala 2 for 1 card

For this card I am going to use a die cut mandala for a stencil to do a rainbow coloured background with ink blending.

I start by cutting out the mandala using the Altenew Delicate mandala die. It is a bit tricky to cut out as it is so detailed.

I then sprayed some repositionable spray on the back so that it will stay put on my card base while I do my ink blending.

I use a range of colours and inks to get the muted rainbow effect that I want. See below for all the colours I used.

I then peeled it off and was left with the mandala shape in white with the coloured background. I also have the bonus of the die cut mandala that is now rainbow coloured as well, so will make a card with that too.

I wanted to use a new stamp I have called Simple beauty by Altenew, and did two colour variations as I wasn't sure which colour would look best with the colours of my background. While I had the Misti out, I decided to stamp some sentiments out as well.

I fussy cut the 'birthday' stamp out and then the rest I cut out into strips as banner sentiments.  I glued the mandala down onto another card base, mounted the flowers and sentiments with some some foam tape and then arranged them onto both cards.  Finally some pretty pink posh clear sparkling sequins dotted around and that was two cards made.

This method would be great with a variety of background dies, cover dies, and even some intricate flower dies or shapes.  Have a look at your stash and see what you could use!

I have a video of making the card.
