Delicate Mandala 2 for 1 card

For this card I am going to use a die cut mandala for a stencil to do a rainbow coloured background with ink blending.

I start by cutting out the mandala using the Altenew Delicate mandala die. It is a bit tricky to cut out as it is so detailed.

I then sprayed some repositionable spray on the back so that it will stay put on my card base while I do my ink blending.

I use a range of colours and inks to get the muted rainbow effect that I want. See below for all the colours I used.

I then peeled it off and was left with the mandala shape in white with the coloured background. I also have the bonus of the die cut mandala that is now rainbow coloured as well, so will make a card with that too.

I wanted to use a new stamp I have called Simple beauty by Altenew, and did two colour variations as I wasn't sure which colour would look best with the colours of my background. While I had the Misti out, I decided to stamp some sentiments out as well.

I fussy cut the 'birthday' stamp out and then the rest I cut out into strips as banner sentiments.  I glued the mandala down onto another card base, mounted the flowers and sentiments with some some foam tape and then arranged them onto both cards.  Finally some pretty pink posh clear sparkling sequins dotted around and that was two cards made.

This method would be great with a variety of background dies, cover dies, and even some intricate flower dies or shapes.  Have a look at your stash and see what you could use!

I have a video of making the card.

Thanks Partial Cut Wreath Card

The Honey Bee Mother's Day stamp I mainly purchased because I wanted some Mother's Day sentiments. However, it did come with a lovely floral wreath stamp, so I thought I would make a card with this.

I hadn't totally planned it out when I started, so it kind of developed as I went along.

I started by stamping two of the stamps out onto a piece of card with Momento Tuxedo black ink, as I knew I was going to colour them with Copics, and that is a copic friendly ink.

I then went ahead and coloured them in, I however missed colouring two parts of the stamp, one was the flower centres and their was something else I didn't fully colour, see if you can spot it in the photos.  I didn't realise I hadn't until I uploaded the photos to do the video and saw it haha, silly me!

After that I fussy cut around the stamps, then stamped the sentiment on a piece of card and cut it out with an oval die.

It was at this point that I thought about doing a partial cut on some the the stamps so that I could get parts of the stamp to sit forward and other parts to sit behind the oval sentiment.  I quite liked the look.  I glued it all in to place.

At this point you could just stick it onto a card base and that would be the card finished, but I thought it looked a little plain, so I decided to do some ink blending over a stencil to just give a bit of interest on the card base.

I put some craft foam onto the back of my sentiment and wreath pieces and stuck that down onto the blended background.

The final touch was some nuvo crystal drops dotted around and that was the card complete.

I have a video of making the card.

Vase of Flowers card

I have had the Versatile Vase stamp for some time and hadn't got around to using it, so today was the day.

The Antique rose set is the flowers I am going to use for my vase.  It is such a beautiful layering set, the flowers really come to life as you stamp each layer!

I started by getting a card panel and using a stencil and some texture paste I made a rough area of a pattern on the centre of the card that my vase and flowers will go on.

Then I stamped the roses in 4 different colour combinations and some of the leaves.

I stamped the vase on Water colour paper as I wanted to do a tiny bit of watercolour to give the impression of water in the vase.  So I had to pick a waterproof ink for that.  I also wanted to stamp some stalks for the roses into the vase, so I found a stalk in the Wallpaper Art set by Altenew.

The water colour was done with some tumbled glass distress ink and a brush.

Then it was just a matter of putting it together.  I raised the roses up on foam tape but everything else was glued flat.

I also at the same time stamped a single flower vase with a single stalk and this one I coloured with a tiny bit of ink blending.  This I put the fourth coloured rose, the blue one, and made it a single rose in a vase.

I have a video of making the card.
