Mother's beautiful Day

This is another Mother’s Day card, and only finished just in time, as it is Mother’s day here in New Zealand this Sunday. Nothing like doing them last minute LOL
I have used my favourite Altenew layering stamp – Beautiful day, its such a lovely stamp set.

I am doing my stamping on a separate card panel, as I intend to cut it out and mount it on craft foam in the corner of my card.
I stamp all the layers of one flower, then mask it with masking paper, and stamp a second flower, so that it looks like the first one is slightly in front of the other one. Once both blooms are stamped, I mask both, and then stamp some sprigs and leaves to form a triangular arrangement on my card panel.  I also had to mask the leaves, so that I could get two more sets of leaves under the flower stamps to full in the corner.

Unfortunately I hadn’t thought about the fact that the sprigs are not coloured, I should have stamped them onto water colour paper, so I could colour the sprigs with inks, but I made sure I kept my paintbrush fairly dry, so that it didn’t warp the card I had used and it worked out fine.  The colours in the crisp inks I used for this will be listed below in the supplies list.

Once the panel was finished I fussy cut out the top edge of all the flowers and sprigs, mounted it on craft foam and put double sided tape on it ready to go on my card base, but first I have to do the sentiment and some ink blending.

I kept the sentiment really simple with ‘Happy’ and ‘Mother’s day’ from a freebie stamp in a Simply cardmaking and papercrafting magazine from last year sometime.

I then wanted to do some inking under the sentiment, so it looked like a slight glow from under the flower panel, so I kept it simple with tumbled glass distress ink blended very lightly in an area underneath and about an inch out from where the flower panel is going to be stuck down.

I could then stick down the panel and just prettied it up with some sparkling clear sequins dotted around and that was the card finished.

Here is the video of me making the card. If you would prefer to see it in full HD on You tube that is here.
