ANZAC Day Video Blog Hop Friendship Card

Today here in New Zealand and Australia is ANZAC day, and I am participating in a Video hop of friendship cards.

ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corp, and it is a day where we commemorate our soldiers who fought at Gallipoli together.  Since then we have continued to have a friendship between our services and continue to work together in a  peace keeping capacity at some of the modern wars.  So why not do a Video hop making friendship cards to commemorate our day!

My card I have used the Flower Arrangement layering stamp from Altenew.

I started by doing a stenciled background using Nuvo glimmer paste and once that was dry I trimmed it and put it onto a card base.

I stamped the 'hello' sentiment from the same set onto a scalloped rectangle die cut and mounted it onto the card with craft foam.  The flowers I stamped with Altenew crisp mini cube ink pads and fussy cut them out then mounted them onto the two corners of the scalloped rectangle sentiment with foam tape.

Garden Treasures Mother's Day Card

This card I have used a new stamp that I have just purchased called Garden Treasures, another of Altenew's beautiful layering stamps.

I always get asked a lot for Mother's day cards from my colleagues, so its always a good idea to have a few made, although I think this one might be for my Mother.

I stamped a number of the flowers and leaves, as I wasn't sure how many I was going to use in the arrangement on my card.

I loosely watercoloured them with my new set of Zig clean colour real brush markers.
I love these pens, they flow beautifully, they blend beautifully, the brush tip is great and is so fine, the colour is so pigmented!

I put a layer of the palest colour for each flower or leaf, and then did some shading with the darker colour where the petals overlapped or at the base of a petal, but really wasn't being too fussy or exact.

Once I had coloured them, I cut them out with the coordinating die set, and had a play around on the card, to see what arrangement looked best.  Once I was happy with that, I did a few stamps of the leaves and the flower sprig with a light gray ink to give it a bit of depth and fullness to the arrangement.  I call this shadow stamping (I'm not sure what it is really called).

I then was able to start sticking my flowers and leaves onto the card, some of the background flowers and leaves were stuck down with glue, the others nearer the top were raised with foam tape.

My sentiment was done with the 'Love you' from the Simon says stamp 'thought messages' stamp with white embossing powder on black card, and then I fussy cut it out.
The Mother was stamped with a 'cheepie' stamp I bought from a Warehouse department store, and this one I cut out normally, mounted them both with foam tape, the black card I used Kool tac tape and the 'mother' I used scotch foam tape.

Finally some dots of Nuvo drops (sweet lilac) to finish it off.

I am quite please with how pretty it turned out.

Here is a video on making the card. If you would prefer to see it in full HD then please check out my You tube channel here.
