Mauve Parisian Cards

I have made a couple of Mauve cards using the same mauve and white daisies I had made with a variety of sized daisy punches.

This one I used a K.Kingdom Embossing folder that came from Fat Cats Card Corner called 'Leaves and Butterflies' (sorry it is not easy to see in this photo!). The centre pendant is made with a mauve layer that is a scalloped circle nestability, then the frame is made with a combination of the small corner on the Parisian Accents (same as the mauve top corners) by Spellbinder and also the centre pendant in white. Next is a square of mauve and finally another of the Parisian Accents centre pendants in white. On top of that is the daisy and some daisy buds made with the daisy punches in 3 different sizes and some punched leaves.  Finally at the bottom is some ribbon and lace and a mauve parisian accent tag with a white circle nestie with a little bling.

The second card is similar but a little simpler, this one has two different sized daisies with the buds and punched leaves.  I have used the same Parisian Accents tag with a circle nestie, and then cut the numbers out of some glitter card.

I have used embossed white card with Swiss dots and the bottom is a designer paper and the Parisian Accents border die.

Red Sweetheart flowers

Goodness, I hadn't realised it has been quite so long since I did a posting!  I have been quite busy at work and so have been coming home tired and not feeling like doing much in the way of crafts.
Anyway one of the cards I have made recently is this white and red and silver card with some Sweetheart flowers that I learnt from Angie at Penny Flowers, who created them to dedicate to her Mum that passed away.

Here is a closeup of the flowers.  I have used a Craft Concepts embossing folder called Budding Vine for the background, Cuttlebug vintage corners and Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 behind the flowers.

Cardmap cards for friends

A few weeks ago we were given a challenge at our PennyFlowers group to do some cards using a Cardmap (sketch) and send them to some of our group that had been having a bit of a hard time lately or been sick. A lot of us had never had a go at cardmaps but have trouble coming up with layouts when planning a card.  The cardmaps that she gave us as the challenge, were from Becky Flecks pagemaps site who Angie had got permission to use them. I decided to have a go at a couple of them, and see what I came up with.

The first one was this one, which I decided to do with my favourite die, the Marianne creatables doily die and the MS doily lace border punch.

I sent it to KiwiBarb, who is living in Christchurch and has been having a trying time after the earthquakes.  Although she didn't have any damage to her own home, she has had some close friends and family that are going through a very difficult time, with their houses either badly damaged or unlivable!  I had been thinking of her quite a bit, and was happy to send her a card to cheer her up. This is the card I send her

The other card I made was this Cardmap.
I sent it to a lady in Malaysa, Kristyn who had been quiet, she sadly lost her dad last year, so I sent a card to let her know, us at PennyFlowers were thinking of her.

This one I did the flowers with a Cuttlebug flowers die and the MS butterflies punch.

Yellow and Black

I created this card to enter the Fat Cat Card Corners 'Nellie Snellen Multiframe Competition'. I had done one entry previously with the 'Step card' that is further back on this blog, but decided to do another entry, and looking back on my blog, a lot of the cards I have done lately are pink or mauve, so decided to do a completely different colour this time.

I was trying to come up with a different way of using the mutilframe die, than all the other cards entered, and I decided to try making a flower with the inside die.  I used 7 of them alternating the colours between white and yellow.  I moulded them with an embossing tool, until they became cupped, more so as I worked into the middle.  The centre is a quilled fringed strip rolled up and then with some 'stickles' on the ends.  The other flowers are done with the ek success daisy medium punch moulded and cupped and a punch bunch small sun punch.  The black flourishes were made with one of the cuttlebug vintage corners and the leaves are a mixture of the Ash family leaf punch and a punch bunch medium dusty miller leaf punch.

The salutation I did on the computer and put the larger of the multiframes around it.  The embossed white background is the cuttlebug 'tiny bubbles' embossing folder.

Purple tilda

Gosh its been a few weeks since I made a card to put on my blog, I have been busy making flowers the last week or so, but no actual cards.

I made this card to use the marianne doily die that I love so much.
I used a Fiskars punch to do the edging of the panel behind the doily die, a vintage cuttlebug corner.

The flowers are roses done with a vinca punch, leaves done with the Martha Stewart rose leaf punch and the Ash family leaf punch.  Some pearl stamens to add a little bling, and then ribbon and lace to finish it off.
You can't quite see but tilda has a bit of stickles on Tildas hat and around the edge of her dress.

Competitions I have entered this time with this card are

Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge Blog - Flowers
Magnolia Down Under Challenges - Lace and Ribbon
Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar Challenge Blog - buttons, bows and bling
7 Kids College Fund Challenge - April showers bring May flowers.

Step card with Joy Digi stamp

I made this card to enter a competition at the Fat Cat Card Corner, as they are running using a Nellie Snellen Multi Frame Die Sets in a card or scrapbook page.  I had also got the dimensions on how to do several types of step cards, which I wanted to have a go at, so decided to combine the two and then I got to use one of the Digital stamps that I had recently got from here

I used some of my handmade flowers, some pearls and some lace to pretty it up a little.
A close up of the middle step where I used some handmade flowers and a couple of heart pins that I
made glittery with some 'Stickles'.

Finally the small step just has some DT paper, a organza bow and a litlle pearl star embellishment.

The competitions I have entered with this was the:
Fat Cat Card Corner - Nellie Snellen Multiframe Die
Paper Romance Challenge - Flowers
Saturday Challenge - Stitching Faux or real
